Yuk Yuk's Comedy Dinner & Cruise
![]() |
The Foundation was proud to host an evening of fun on September 19th, 2009. While floating up the river, guests were entertained by two of Yuk Yuk’s up and coming comedians, enjoying Surf and Turf courtesy of Angelo’s Restaurant as part of the ongoing campaign for a CT scanner for the Perth Smiths Falls District Hospital. The comedic talents of Graham Chittenden and Peter Anthony were enjoyed by all. Since starting in comedy, Chittenden has been earning a reputation for his unique brand of intellectual comedy. Audiences have loved his reflection on current events, personal experiences and life in general. Recently, he earned second place at the “Just For Laughs Homegrown Competion”, which is proof positive that this man is ready for bigger and better things. Peter Anthony has been seen on stage and television for various comedy shows, but is also equally comfortable behind seen and has written behind the scenes for TV and radio. In 2008 he won the Canadian Comedy Award for Best New Standup and hasn’t sat down since. The CT scan campaign is going into its second year. The Hospital will be purchasing a 64-slice light speed volume computer tomography CT system that is valued at $2.2 million. Once in operation, the scanner will be able to perform about 3,000 scans a year at the Smiths Falls site. Whit the scan uses x-ray technology, it is distinguished from other diagnostic imaging methods by ability to offer detailed views of many types of tissue, organs, muscles, including lungs, bones, soft tissues and blood vessels. MANY THANKS TO OUR SPONSORS!! |
